Hi, everyone. I'm Kayla.
And I am Adam. And we are the Student Coordinators for FDU's messaging app.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about how to connect with students and staff at FDU. Unibuddy is a messaging app we utilize to help you make one of the most important decisions of your life. This video will show you how to use Unibuddy to chat with members of our community.
Accessing Unibuddy is super easy through our FDU website. you can go to fdu.edu/chat on your web browser to see all of our FDUStudent Ambassadors. Or you can find it on our admissions tab. On fdu.edu, you can click admissions and a chat bubble will pop up. Click there, and you'll be brought to the Unibuddy page.
You can choose to speak to student ambassadors based on their degree levels, areas of professional studies and their native countries. Each ambassador also has a bio in their profile, which can tell you more about that student. Their bio contains a greeting message, information about the organizations they're involved in, and their hobbies. You can find their favorite parts of FDU and look for similar interests. If you know what you're interested in, you can narrow your search. For example, if I wanted to speak with an undergraduate accounting student from the Florham campus, I would be shown Anthony's profile. From there, I can view his info or open a chat.
After selecting a student to chat with, you will be directed to the signup page. Here you'll add your personal information and create a login. You will be asked what you plan on studying, whether you're a student, parent or counselor, and when and where you plan on joining the FDU family. Once you create your account, you can send your message immediately. Make sure you create an account before sending a message so you'll have access to the conversation later on. If you're unsure of what to talk about, you can click on the exclamation point in the top right corner. That shows you what our student ambassadors love to talk about, and what you should steer clear of. Our ambassadors love to talk about all things FDU. So feel free to ask away.
Once you figure out what you want to say and send your first message, you'll be prompted to sign up for notifications. This is great so you'll never miss a message. Another great way to stay on top of your chat is to download the app. When you sign up, you get an email to download. Once your message is sent, the ambassador will respond within 24 hours if not immediately. Here at FDU, we want to make sure that you're getting the information you need as quickly as possible. You can also speak directly with a financial aid or admissions counselor using the staff option. That can be found by clicking the staff icon or by going to fdu.edu/staff chat. The staff are super helpful, especially when it comes to your application or understanding scholarships. Our FDU counselors can't wait to assist you with anything that you need. Just like students, staff members have a bio in their profile that can tell you more about their position. On both the app and web browser version, you can toggle through different tabs based on what you need. You can open your chat, choose more students to talk to, choose a staff member to talk to, or even read some blogs. We definitely recommend downloading the app so FDU can come with you wherever you go.
We can't wait to chat with you and tell you all about our FDU experiences.
Remember to go for what you love. Go FDU.
