Hi, everyone. Thank you for taking the time today to learn more about Fairleigh Dickinson University. We are so excited for you to learn more about our school and home. So, my name is Karina Pedraza and I'm an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor on the Florham campus. And today I'm joined by Janine, one of our wonderful Student Ambassadors are here to help me. Hi, everyone, like she said, my name is Janine and I'm a senior film major with a concentration in film directing. I'm also a resident student because I come from Maryland. Woohoo!
So when I share things about FDU, or the small class sizes, and the access to the professors. Now let's take it over to the Metro Campus to see what they have to say next.
Hey, everyone, my name is Sam and I'm a proud Admissions Counselor at Fairleigh Dickinson University. We're at our home away from home the Metropolitan campus, and I'm joined by one of our amazing Student Ambassadors today, Adam Matter, Hi everybody, my name is Adam. I'm a Student Ambassador. I'm a junior psychology major and I'm an international student from Egypt. I chose FDU because I love the sense of community and I cannot wait to tell you more.
Fairleigh Dickinson University is a medium sized liberal arts university. We have four campuses with two of them located in northern New Jersey. We have our Metropolitan campus located in Teaneck, which is only about six miles away from New York City. And then, we have our Florham campus located in Madison, New Jersey, which is about a 45 minute train ride out of New York City. FDU is New Jersey's largest private university. Plus the best part about that is that we pride ourselves on having a small average classroom size. So this really allows you to connect with your professors and other students in a conductive environment. Our professors are leaders in their field who will help you with your studies and with your professional careers after you graduate. We have over 100 different majors and concentrations that are available. Our most popular majors such as education, business, nursing, and biology are available across both of our campuses. So now let's learn more about the differences between our Metropolitan and our Florham campus.
So right now I'm standing in front of Missy Hall, which we just call the Mansion. The mansion was actually owned by the Vanderbilts who own the entire state that was originally designed by Frederick Olmsted, also known as the guy who designed Central Park. Pretty cool.
Here at the Florham campus, we have about 2700 undergraduate students and about 700 graduates students. We are also a DIII campus which means that we have a football team. Go Devils!
Another unique thing to the Florham on campus is that we have a lot of artistic majors like film, theater, graphic design. We also offer majors like pharmacy and criminology. If you're looking for a more traditional college experience with a nice big long and a very picturesque campus, this is the place for you.
Right now I'm sitting on our favorite footbridge, which is over the Hackensack River. This footbridge divides our campus between the cities of Teaneck and Hackensack. The Metropolitan campus is located in New Jersey, and is about six miles away from New York City. We have about 3000 undergraduate students and about 2000 graduate students and about 72 clubs and organizations. We even have a Division One athletics team. While most of the programs that MTU are offered on both campuses. Some programs are campus specific, such as the chemical engineering, civil engineering and electrical engineering majors, marine biology, and criminal justice. If you're looking for a lively and close knit community FDU Metro is a campus for you.
