Welcome to FDU. My name is Donna Robertson, I'm the university Director of Career Development. So what that means is that we curate 1000s of opportunities, whether it's professional or internship, to hopefully find the right opportunity for you. We have a great team, and we will help you find a career that fits you. One of the many reasons that I love working at FDU are, of course, the students. The students bring so many interests and personalities, backgrounds, experiences to campus. And we know that each of you is really unique. And our role as Career Educators is to help you tell your story. For us, it's not just checking the box, it's about building relationships. We want to get to know you as a person really get to know what your interests are, what makes you tick-- so that we can really help find the right opportunity that really fits you in what you're interested in. So we want to help you explore options, try some things out, see what works, see what doesn't work. And in the end, we want you to graduate feeling really confident about the decisions that you've made. FDU students are involved in many experiential opportunities, internships, clinicals, student teaching, research, it's really important that you get outside the classroom, and being able to apply what you learn inside the classroom to the real world. So our goal is to help you connect as much as possible to those opportunities. So we also like to get to know your professors. We want to get to know your program. So we can really help you find the right fit. We also collaborate with alumni to help you build your professional network. In fact, even in the very first year, we find opportunities to connect you with alumni and employers. So you can do informational interviews, and learn what a career is really about firsthand. Every year, we host over 50 events, career fairs, workshops, panels, we really provide opportunities for you to connect with employers. And we're very lucky because employers seek us out whether they're large or they're small, nationally and locally, we get opportunities every day for you to find what might work for you. If going to a career fair or scheduling an appointment seems a little scary. It's okay, we get it. That's why we have Career Peers. Career Peers or students just like you. They've been trained by Career Development to learn all about the resources so that they can help you help yourself. Career Development welcomes the opportunity to help you and empower you to be whoever you want to be. So your career journey-- It's just getting started. Are you excited? Are you ready? Let's go FDU!
