Welcome to FDU. My name is Dr. James Sally Irwin. I'm the Deputy Chair of Biological Sciences, the College of Florham. My name is Dr. Marion McClary and I'm the Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences. What I really enjoy is being able to teach courses. Particularly, ones that are right down my alley in terms of expertise, and work with students on research. On the Metropolitan campus, we have a Master's in Biology, we have a concentration in Biotechnology, or in Business. A graduate student at Fairleigh Dickinson University can expect small class sizes, one-on-one interaction with faculty, whether it's in a classroom with the teaching, or with research. The research opportunities at Fairleigh Dickinson University for graduate students range from research that deal with research on skin research on cancer, cancer in the skin, the effect of UV radiation on the skin cells. And the faculty members who work in this area are published frequently. So you have a possibility of publishing with these professors, which will further your career because of the publication. And there's also a network of students out there that you could tap into to help you excel in your career. A degree in Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University opens up the door to endless opportunities. Students that are in the master's program here at FDU go on to do a variety of things. Some of those things are to work in industry, biotechnology, or continue to do so if they're already working in that field, for promotion reasons. So in addition to you know, our impressive faculty, and our ability to not only work with students on a one-on-one basis, but also publish, pretty exciting research. We also have students who are now veterinarians and doctors and physical therapists, as well as PhDs. We have a person right now who's down at Princeton. And so it's really great to see where our students have gone and they've kind of expanded into tons of different areas. It's very exciting. For more information, please go to www.fdu.edu/biology. So you also have the opportunity to visit and sit in on one of our classes and see how they actually really teach and interact with students on a daily basis. And I look forward to seeing you on campus in the science building in the fall.
